La institución anglosajona Release International señala que más de 250 millones de cristianos están padeciendo amenazas en diversas naciones del orbe, desde China al África Subsahariana y, de forma especial, en todos los terruños mahometanos.
Según el organismo, en muchas partes del universo, donde prevalece la mezcolanza entre religión y política, trueca, a los separados de la religión oficial, en hostiles a los que se les debe someter a la mudez con crueldad. Los atropellos que padecen los cristianos pasan por el secuestro, la conversión obligada, el arresto, la demolición de las templos, el tormento, el abuso sexual y la muerte.

Con evidencia palmaria, en el ámbito islámico, ser cristiano requiere una actitud valiente, con un comprobado peligro para su integridad física, hasta la muerte.
“Ningún poder humano puede quebrantar el baluarte impenetrable de la libertad de un corazón”, afirmó Fénelon.
