Giving in to the ends and the means

Giving in to the Ends and the Means
The visit lasted more than two hours. The agent of the public prosecutor's office revealed the charges against Julián Assange, founder of Wikileaks, who has been charged with two sexual abuse crimes. From this perspective, Assange appears to be an empty soul trying to achieve realization through carnal, abusive and secretive means.
Moreover, an advertising poster has displayed an obscene image promoting a travel agency. Ironically, it has been thought that eroticism does not sell, for it creates rejection from a large chunk of potential consumers.
On that note, actresses Kiti Mánver, Aurora Sánchez and Nuria González are the protagonists of an advertising campaign announcing Juan Carlos Rubio’s theatrical play, “Tres” (“Three”). They are portrayed naked and very pregnant – almost as if they were about to give birth. For these movie stars every mean counts. Therefore, if it is necessary for them to pose naked, according to the script, they are willing to do it.
Same with Josef Fritzl, the “monster of Amstetten”, who kept his daughter imprisoned for 24 years and with whom conceived 7 children. He was sentenced for life due to the omission of aid, slavery, rape, violation of human liberty, coercion, and incest. During an interview carried out by “Bild”, a German newspaper, Fritzl asserted that he has written eight letters to his wife, but that she has not answered. Fritzl confessed to the newspaper: “I know she still loves me. My dream is to be able to come out alive in order to take care of my wife”. In prison, he has two bodyguards protecting him from possible aggressions from other prisoners.
Today, our society continues to experience human morality degradation. This has led to carnal emptiness that attempts to fill itself up with narcissist delight and the denial of universal truths and human rights. When perversion is dominant, our most assured and basic morals get destroyed. Fake fortunes, fraud, and narcissism are some of the most corruptive phenomena of humanity.

We cannot allow our human sufferings nor our moral emptiness to take over our beautiful human transcendental potential. We must always persevere towards realizing truth in love, since, as St. John affirms, “the truth will make you free”.(Translated by Gianna A. Sanchez-Moretti)
