Los niños no estudian / The children do not study

“The children are those who less watch television in the general panorama of the audience”. This is one of the fundamental conclusions derived from a research conducted by professors of the University of Navarre, among 4,000 students from all Spain.
According to professor Xavier Bringué, “the children dedicate between two and three hours a day, whereas the adults usually surpass them in one or two hours”. The analyst showed the content of the study: Do you know what plays your offspring? They play the new forms of digital entertainment; the video games and Internet.
If they had to choose between television and Internet, a 32 percent would choose the television and a 38 percent the Network; a 47 percent puts in front the video games and a 40 percent remains with the portable telephony. In the case of the video games, their preferred the adventure and the action; a high percentage thinks that they diminish his dedication to the study. The irruption of the new technologies in the familiar life constitutes new educative challenges for the parents.
Finally, the study revealed that the origin of the problems between the fathers and their offspring is concentrated in the amount of hours assigned to the small screen, its influence on the scholar performance, on the sleep or on the health, but not in the quality of its contents.
The young people intimate very well with the video games since they invest many hours a day. Usually they like to have conflictive titles while their relatives are in a total ignorance. The manufacturers include the advice of the age in the cases, but this is not binding enough for the distributors and many parents do not know what they acquire for their children.
