España es el país donde más cocaína se consume de la Unión Europea, según el último informe del Observatorio Europeo de las Drogas y las Taxicomanías. La Oreja de Van Gogh presta su colaboración a través de su weblog en Internet, “Escuela de la Droga” y colaborando con Tratamientos Avanzados de la Adicción ya que el 10 por ciento de sus ingresos se destinan a la lucha contra la droga.
“Vemos que la droga está presente en el mundo de la música, en nuestro caso prevalece la idea de que se disfruta mejor de una gira durmiendo lo máximo posible”. “Nos interesa cenar con un buen vino y nada más”. Éstos son algunos de los mensajes que lanzan los miembros del grupo musical. “Nos va bien y preferimos evitar atajos como las drogas, que no llevan a ningún sitio”.
Por otra parte en la sede de la Fundación de Ayuda contra la Drogadicción, institución privada, sin ánimo de lucro, no confesional e independiente de toda filiación política y de carácter benéfico-asistencial, se han presentado las acciones conmemorativas de su 20 aniversario.
Al parecer las drogas han dejado de ser un problema de primera magnitud porque sus efectos son diferentes y menos visibles, pero sigue matando. La afirmación de que los únicos problemas que puede acarrear el consumo abusivo de drogas son problemas médico-sanitarios, no es cierto. Se debe transmitir la idea de que muchos de los problemas sociales de los jóvenes tienen mucho que ver con las drogas, afirmó, entre otras cosas, Ignacio Calderón, director general de la FAD.
La Fundación ha editado cinco millones de ejemplares del manifiesto: “Algunas realidades de los consumos de drogas” que se encartarán en los suplementos dominicales de los diarios españoles.
