Muerte asistida / Attended death

El Comité Consultivo de Bioética de Cataluña, órgano consultivo del Departamento de Salud de la Generalitat de Cataluña, exhibió una investigación en la que se mantiene, con firmeza, cambiar el Código Penal para despenalizar la eutanasia.
Según el Código Penal, en su artículo 143, la eutanasia y la cooperación al suicidio están penalizadas hasta con diez años de cárcel.
Por otra parte, la Asociación Catalana de Estudios Bioéticos impugna este estudio que apoya la eutanasia eficiente, porque “presentar la legalización de la eutanasia, como la posibilidad de una muerte digna, es una grotesca manipulación del lenguaje. Detrás de unas palabras seductoras se esconde la cruda realidad: un homicidio”. Su presidente, dijo que “la experiencia holandesa muestra cómo la eutanasia conduce a la pérdida de la tutela legal sobre los más débiles. Por ello, su despenalización es un grave error”. La Asociación exige una apuesta definida por la Medicina Paliativa como medio acertado para consolar al doliente en su padecimiento.
También en Italia permanecen escuchando los alaridos de Piergiorgio Welby que remitió una filme en video al presidente de la República Italiana en la que expone como, desde hace 30 años, no consigue andar ni conversar; su existencia pende de una máquina. La mayor parte de los mandatarios italianos se han manifestado en contra del propuesta para legitimar la eutanasia, algo similar al caso holandés.
El Vaticano también ha contribuido calificando de inaceptable cualquier tipo de extinción asistida. El cardenal Javier Lozano Barragán afirma que la eutanasia “es una trayectoria de muerte”. El cardenal aseveró que la posición de la Iglesia es diáfana “defender la vida, y los parlamentarios católicos tendrán que ser coherentes y exprimir el pensamiento católico, dentro del Parlamento, según las leyes y procedimientos democráticos”.
La eutanasia es un asesinato de un ser humano, hijo de Dios.

The Consultative Committee of Bioethics of Catalonia, a consultative organ of the Health Department of the Generalitat of Cataluña, exhibited an investigation in which maintains, with firmness, the position to change the Penal Code to legalize euthanasia.
According to the Penal Code, in their article 143, euthanasia and the cooperation to the suicide are penalized with up to ten years of jail. On the other hand, the Catalonian Association of Bioethics Studies is against this study, which supports the efficient euthanasia, as “to present the legalization of euthanasia, as the possibility of a worthy death, is a grotesque manipulation of the language. Behind seductive words hides the crude reality: an homicide”.
His president said: “the Dutch experience show the example how euthanasia leads to the loss of the legal tutelage on the weakest persons. For that reason, its legalization is a serious mistake”. The Association demands a defined alternative as the Palliative Medicine as a right way to console to the sore person in his suffering.
In Italy they also still listening to the howls of Piergiorgio Welby, who sent a video to the president of the Italian Republic, in which he exposes how, since 30 years ago, he is not able to walk nor to talk; his existence depends on a machine. Most of the Italian leaders have pronounced themselves against the proposal to legitimize euthanasia, something similar to the Dutch case.
The Vatican also has contributed calling as unacceptable any type of attended extinction. The Cardinal Javier Lozano Barragán affirms that euthanasia “is a trajectory to death”. The Cardinal asserted that the position of the Church is diaphanous: “To defend the life; and the catholic parliamentarians will have to be coherent and to express the catholic thought, within the Parliament, according to the democratic laws and procedures”. Euthanasia is a murder of a human being, a son of God.
